Can you describe what you do at Rain City Capital?

I underwrite the loans, which means the loans come to me after they’ve been processed and I review and approve them. There’s a lot of other stuff that goes into that, but it would take forever to explain.

How did you come to work for Rain City?

I’d taken two years off after having my daughter. I was looking to get back to work, but slowly. And then I saw Rain City’s ad on Craigslist.

I looked up the website—which is not the fine thing it is today—and I wasn’t sure if the company was legit. But then I read what was on there and it interested me. So I thought I’d just apply and see what happens.

Craiglist, eh? Interesting. And how do you like it here?

I love it here. It’s more like a family than an office. We all know what’s going on in each other’s lives.

Fred’s always coming up with different ideas and things are always moving. It keeps me on my toes and it’s always interesting. I’ve never woken up and been unhappy to go to work.

Very cool! So, next question: Do you have a special talent?

Um, is being organized a talent? I’m super organized. I wish I was a talented singer—but that wasn’t in the cards. My family groans when I belt out songs in the car.

I’m almost afraid to ask, but do you have any guilty pleasures?

I love horror flicks. Scary movies.

Cool! Any favorites?

Silence of the Lambs. I like the mind-game horror.

What advice would you give yourself ten years ago?

Probably just always be yourself. Don’t try to be somebody else.

What’s your pet peeve?

<laughs> Messy desks. Clutter. I hate clutter.

What do you think of my desk?

Yours is okay. I’ve seen worse.

What three words would you use to describe yourself?

Funny. Loyal. Kind.

Where’s your favorite place to be?

Maui, Hawaii. It’s just beautiful. The smell, the ocean, the sound of the waves.

If you were to win a high school year book award right now, what would it be?

Class Flirt. Or Class Clown. Probably both! 

What is the best, worst, or weirdest job you’ve ever had?

Oddly enough, it was my very first job at the XTC Station, back home in the mall. It was a gyro place. I worked there with a bunch of friends—I didn’t even do dishes at home so I had to learn to do dishes there.

At first, my dad thought I’d said got a job at the Ecstasy Station—and was concerned.

What are the top 3 highlights of your life?

Having my son.

Marrying Drew.

Having my daughter.

(I’d put my cats in there, but you don’t have a number four.)

Do you have a quote or life motto you like to live by?

“Life’s too short.”

As our office’s resident “HR” person, what changes would you make, if you could implement any policy at all, to the Rain City office?

Um. Oh man. Well, I have some… interesting ideas for the dress code. And I’m just going to leave it at that.
